Buckwheat
Ski Classic A cross country ski race along a breathtaking White Pass mountain course that gold seekers traversed during the Gold Rush of 1898. Fast becoming an international event with entrants from Alaska, British Columbia, Yukon, Austria, and Germany. Day Activities Our July 4th celebration has been history making since Soapy Smith rode at the head of our first parade in 1898. getting caught in the trees lining the bank and the water loving

Road Relay A 110 mile relay race that begins in Skagway, Alaska on Friday and ends in Whitehorse, Yukon the next afternoon. Teams of 10 members from all over the world compete in this event. 162 teams competed in 1998, some for the race experience and some just for fun (one Skagway team is named Muckrakers).
